Grand Canyon - example of the earths powerI have to let you know that this was before I really had spent a lot of time in my spiritual “space” and had not really learned how to tune into my Higher self perspective during the event.  I pretty much just went into sheer panic and wanted to run barefoot down the stairs and out the door all the way back to Canada when it happened !

I had always joked that I can sleep through any amount of noise and Daniel agreed… you could run a freight train through the bedroom and I would not wake up… I think it is from sleeping on a beer keg under a bar in Fresno when I was age 3 to 5 … but that’s another story.

Anyway I now know what will actually wake me up in the middle of the night.  A 6.6 Quake will do it…

Daniel and I and our dog Casta were staying with my best friends in Patty and Flavio Montoro in Los Angeles at their 1940’s built home. We had been visiting many of our friends all week and Daniel had mentioned that he would find it interesting to be in an earthquake.  Talk about manifesting your thoughts !!!

We went to bed around midnight and at 2 am  Casta woke us up  by trying to crawl under our bed and would not sleep in her own little bed beside us next to the closet.  I was tired and did not feel up to or concerned about asking her what was going on… we just let her sleep with us.

At exactly 4:31 I heard this roaring sound and the whole building was shaking and it literally felt so violent that I thought a giant monster had picked up the house and was shaking it vigorously back and forth.

I jumped out of bed and ran for the doorway. I know now that is not the thing to do, but I grew up in L.A. and it was the thing to do when I was a kid.

I was attempting to hang onto the doorframe without falling down it because the floor was rolling and jumping. My girlfriends husband had run across the hallway to save their 2 kids and he appeared back in the doorway across from where I was and as he ran back to where I was he looked at me and he quickly glanced away. It was then that Daniel who was riding the bed as it bucked and jumped and literally bounced across the bedroom from one wall to the other yelled at me…

“Put some clothes on !!”

I looked back at him and realized I was only in my undies and seeing the bed bouncing all over the bedroom I yelled “I cant… I’ll get run over by the bed !”  Meanwhile our friend continued holding his 2 kids one under each arm with his head cranked away from me.

Daniel tossed me the sheet and I wrapped it around me.  It was then that I realized Casta was beside me and I grabbed her by the collar and held her with me.

It shook hard like that for about 10 seconds and then shuddered for about 10 seconds and then rolled and waved the house back and forth for about 20 seconds.  It was the longest 31 seconds of my life.. and I know many others who were hit harder than we were.

When it stopped… I managed to actually get clothes and shoes on and we went downstairs to find all of the glass out of the cupboards and off the shelves broken, but thankfully no real damage to much else… that old 40’s house swayed and bent and only cracked the stucco and wallboard walls… it stayed standing and was super flexible.

I was in shock and we turned the t.v. on and the newscaster was in shock too.  I was pretty much ready to go back to Canada right then and there but when I opened the front door all of the alarms on the cars and houses were going… there was dust in the air and the power lines were all over the place. Rocks you dont want to be near in an earthquake No one was going anywhere right then.

We could not turn on the gas or use any water for 3 days. Actually, what was amazing was the resilience of those who were hit about the same as us.  It was very impressive to see most people acting normally, seemingly not affected, and acting like it was just another day.

Needless to say I slept in my jammies after that … and still do especially when I am in strange places!!

I find it encouraging but also a bit unsettling that all of the people in the L.A. area that I met were so used to being in amongst conflict and chaos that they weren’t easily shaken.  So… I guess on one hand it’s a good thing that they are not all ready for a nervous breakdown from the stress of everyday life there… but on the other hand… it could be concerning about people being so desensitized.

My thoughts are that the humans spirit reacts to its environment in the way that it needs to, in order to survive… which brings me to something I heard recently from Bill Harris of Centerpointe Research Institute… of the Holosync Technology, which is a wonderful program that I use.

In his CD called “The Inside Secrets of How to be Happy Peaceful and Sucessful…all the time,” he speaks about the Entropy Theory and The law of increasing entropy (the disorder of disorganization) whereby he discusses that when a system such as your nervous system becomes too overloaded … too disorganized, it firsts resists the disorder then it collapses its present “organization” in order to reorganize itself to accept the new “disorder or order”.

Pretty interesting stuff.
